The Castle of the Four Panoramas

The Castle of Taormina, also known as the Arab-Norman Castle, Saracen Castle, or Monte Tauro Castle, majestically stands 397 meters above sea level, offering a unique 360-degree panoramic view.

From this vantage point, you can admire the Strait of Messina, the Ionian coastline, the Alcantara Valley, the slopes of Mount Etna, and, towards the west, the city of Catania and the Peloritani Mountains. Thanks to this privileged position, it is also nicknamed the “Castle of the Four Panoramas.”

Tmeless history and breathtaking views

The Castle is accessible via a scenic stone staircase carved into the rock, starting from the charming church of Madonna della Rocca. The fortress, with its characteristic trapezoidal shape, still preserves its high perimeter walls, a watchtower, a rainwater cistern, an underground corridor once used for supplies, and two visitable caves. A spectacular fan-shaped staircase leads to the keep, the highest part of the Castle.

The Castle of Taormina is also available all year round as a unique venue for private events, weddings, corporate functions, photo shoots, and institutional ceremonies.
