Dotted with bays, coves and enchanting natural vistas, the coastline around Taormina offers a variety of unforgettable seaside experiences. Moving from north to south, Spisone, Mazzeo, Mazzarò, Isola Bella and Villagonia form the maritime heart of Taormina.
Many AAT members have agreements with the beach clubs on these beaches, ensuring guests can enjoy convenient transport links, dedicated services and special deals. Taormina’s beaches are a natural extension of the town’s beauty, offering a magical mosaic of views, aromas and colours that evolve as you travel along the coast.
From Spisone to Villagonia, each bay offers a different experience of the sea and the coast, while sharing the high standards of hospitality the Taormina Hotel Association is renowned for.

Spisone
Spisone is one of the largest and most easily accessible beaches.
A pebble beach with rocky islets that rise from the sea close to the shore, the depth and visibility of its crystal-clear waters make it perfect for snorkelling. There is a mix of public and serviced private stretches. Located near the Taormina motorway exit, it is easy to get to using the regular bus services or a dedicated shuttle service, and is an ideal destination for a genuinely relaxing beach day.
Mazzeo
Further north of the town centre, Mazzeo is a large, quiet beach that has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for the quality of its waters and facilities. The shingle along the coastline here is the finest in Taormina, and the beach extends along more than a kilometre, alternating between beautifully maintained private facilities and public stretches. The Lido SoleLuna beach club is also equipped to welcome pets.
Regular bus services and a shuttle bus run between Mazzeo and the town centre, offering convenient access to this little corner of paradise just minutes from Corso Umberto.
Mazzarò
A gem nestling amid the rocks, Mazzarò is the most elegant and secluded of Taormina’s beaches.
The calm, crystal-clear waters and sophisticated facilities make it a popular choice for visitors seeking both beauty and supreme comfort. Easily accessible by cable car from the centre of Taormina, with a stop just a short walk from the shore, it’s an ideal place to enjoy the sea, with a full range of amenities close at hand, set against a breathtaking backdrop.
Probably the most famous beach in Sicily, Isola Bella is a natural and cultural icon. A designated Nature Reserve and Marine Protected Area, it offers a landscape of rare beauty, with the small island connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of sand.
Public stretches alternate with serviced beach clubs, both guaranteeing the utmost respect for the environment.
Accessible by cable car from the centre of Taormina, followed by a scenic flight of steps, Isola Bella is a must-see for every visitor. To the south of Isola Bella, towards the border with the municipality of Giardini Naxos, Villagonia is a pebble beach with crystal-clear waters, easily accessible from Taormina-Giardini railway station. Quieter and popular with locals too, the authentic, relaxed atmosphere makes it a perfect choice for a genuine, unspoilt seaside experience.
